A Year in Review....(Wheres it gone???)

Hey Everyone in Scrappyland
are you feeling the same as me, and wondering "where has this year gone?"
it doesn't seem that long since I was fighting with Christmas lights and trying to fold them up nicely so when next required they would unfold in a seemly manner....NO! didn't happen...So
We are not having a Christmas Tree or Decorations this year....I have put up a Santa figure and a string for the cards but that's it....Have I lost the Christmas feeling?...well maybe a little, we are never home for Christmas Day and all the prezzies that I take so long to wrap beautifully end up squished in a box to travel to Wyndham where we have Christmas Lunch with Friends (we have done this for over 20yrs) and this year I'm just not feeling it...Maybe its because like I said earlier "where has the year gone". I'm still in about July lol
Anyway...What a year it has been. For us personally as a Family it has been a big year but not as big as next years, with 2 weddings happening in our Family. This year saw our Eldest Son Chris get engaged to Anna and they are planning to get married at Bathurst weekend Oct Next Year (who gets married at Bathurst weekend???). Mike and Sherie have been progressing with their wedding plans and have everything totally under control, the invites have not long gone out so now its just the waiting.
Emz has had an interesting year and all I can say is I hope that next year is her year. Trevor and I had a wonderful trip to the V8's in Pukekohe in April ---my 50th Birthday Prezzie and I have already purchased our tickets for next years racing. Trev fulfilled one of his "bucket" list items and that was to purchase a Holden Monaro....Hot House Green, 2 door Coupe, 6 speed manual and she goes and like all good women costs him money! I shouted Trev to the Bledisloe Cup Rugby in Wellington for his 50th back in August and here is with Red Noses for the red nose day appeal with my SIL Jackie.
Don't they look like a couple of clowns?

From my perspective I have had an amazing year with Scrapbooking and I have loved every minute teaching and especially at SENZ early July that has to be the highlight of my Teaching to date. Liz from Artful Crafts asked me to go up with the shop and take 2 classes. I met some lovely Ladies (and Gentlemen!) and would definitely love to go back in the future in a similar capacity. The thing that after all these years is that you give the Ladies the same packets of goodies and everyone's ends up so totally different.
Here is some pics from over the last couple of months and it shows the latest Exploding Box I created for Artful Crafts Christmas party last weekend...
This is some of the amazing bunch of Ladies from my Dunedin Classes and a whole lotta party food...no chocolate tho that's not good for our petite figures!

This group of wonderful ladies is some that regularly turn up to the Balclutha Classes, we had party food as well but it was mostly healthy so no a good piccie to take lol

This is the lid from the Exploding Box I created for Artful Crafts Christmas weekend recently and you will have to check their blog later in the week to see the rest of the insides.
It was an amazing weekend and a lot of laughs were had.
A sneaky pic of a couple of the inside flaps,  super fantastic for a gift to hold lots of photos or like I created for Emz last year a great holder for vouchers.

This is a little MDF box I had made and have covered the insides with some of the Kaisercraft "Looking Glass" papers and goodies. I even got adventurous and made Alice's dress and of course the Mad Hatters Hat (I love making them!). a little book can be seen on the table and the bottle of medicine as well.
I had so much fun creating this little box and even added a Tim Holtz Pocket Watch

I hope to bring you another blog post next week with some more pics from our recent classes and until then...

Scrapping in Oct......and how many weeks till Christmas?

Hi Everyone in Scrappyland (and those that aren't obsessed by this paper, glue scissors hobby)
It has been a little while since I Have been on the blog...but I have been busy.....Doing Housework?  you ask with a snigger....working harder at work? you ask with another snigger....or just spending your time playing with paper, glue and scissors.....YES I reply

and I have loved every minute of it lol
the kitchen floor resembles a bombsite, the lounge well....we wont go there...we cant its full of scrapping stuff, thank god I don't knit there would be balls and balls and more balls (of wool) everywhere!
Anyway I hope this blog post finds you all well and being totally creative...hey did you know its only 11 weeks till Christmas.
Have you caught up on the recent goodies I have created the 2 x books and the card class that is happening now.
The books were amazing to create and the Ladies I think enjoyed making them after they got the folds in the right place then everything else fell into place nicely there was the boy one and the girly one for the Boy one I used "Base Coat 2" Papers and for the girly one I used Bo Bunny "The Avenues" both awesome papers to used and I'm sure I will be using both again in the future.
here is a piccie of them both. Each had its own box to be made to house the little album and I think it finished them off nicely.
Base Coat 2 Boys album and Box

Bo Bunny "the Avenues" Girly Album and Box

Since then though I have been busy creating 8 cards for the class this weekend....now for those of you that know me, you will know that I don't make cards but when I do they are definitely over the top and have too much stuff on them....so yep true to form...they are lol but I did enjoy creating them and the Ladies at class today seemed to enjoy the creative process that followed....what do you think

great range of cards...
2 x Christmas, 1 x Man, 1 x Birthday, 1 x Sympathy, 1 x Female, 1 x Thank You and 1 x Random
(Brick wall)
Ok that's it for now, Trevs guna take me to the Lone Star for dinner (its only cos he cant find the bench to cook my dinner!!!)

This won't happen often...

When I blog twice in one week!!!
however I have just finished the next layout for our class/kitz on the 3rd Aug and wanted to share that and another little goodie for you.

anyway here is the extra little goodie I wanted to share....

I thought we had to make name badges for SENZ so while trying to finish kitting, startin to pack and get the house tidy on the Tuesday night I got creative and made this little "hat" as the base for my name badge, what do you think?

and for those of you who like "sneaky peaks" here's one of the next class
I have used one of the Prima Mixed Media Stamps to help create the lovely young lady for the layout

from this can you imagine what the rest looks like?

anyway if anyone would like a kit they are $35 couriered with Instructions and for those of you that don't have this stamp I will "pre stamp things for you"

Until next time...

Hi Everyone...

What a wonderful week it has been...
There is nothing better than being able to play with paper scissors and glue...especially when your an adult.....so for me its been a lot of fun.
Anyway we had 2 wonderful classes this past weekend one in Dunedin and the other in Balclutha
and the Ladies seemed very happy with their finished projects...well apart from the flowers than needed to be adhered when getting home.

Here is the double page layout we created this week.
Its using the Prima Engraver paper Collection and along with the Tim Holtz Sewing Room, Layered Wings, Picture Wheel and Steampunk Cog dies.

We also used some of the Metal Key and Flower Rose strip from  PaperVine a wonderful NZ Company. Go for a visit as Lowri has some amazing little trinkets to poke through.

Here is a closeup of the Mannequin and Layered Wings. I have used watercolour paper to cut them out and lightly inked the edges with Sepia and then rubbed them over with Crystal Stickles.

This Layout is the one I created using the goodies from the June Sketch Kit. I didn't want to put on any photos so instead once again played with the Mannequin (sewing room) die and the Layered wings die. For this sketch kit I used the Bo Bunny C'est La Vie Collection along with some Kaisercard cardstock. I was very happy with this layout and think it would awesome in a little girls room

Here is a closeup of the centre Mannequin  and once again showing the wings

Ok That's it short and sweet not like the last blog post... hope you had a wee laugh, every now and then I have a wee chuckle about it.

Im away to play some more with the next lot of class goodies, for the class and kit we are using the Awesome Collection from the Graphic 45 - Secret Garden and the new Prima Mixed Media Doll Stamps (very very cool stamps!!!) and for the Sketch kit we are using a little mixture of everything from Prima Engraver to Bo Bunny C'est La Vie... the later has 2 very different sides so either can be used it will be very interesting to see what the ladies come up with.

Remember to keep an eye out for the Mini Senz that Liz from Artful Crafts is looking at having, it should be a whole lot of fun and will be in October sometime

Until Next Time

Phew!!!....I survived....SENZ...not so sure about the plane ride home tho...

But I must admit I loved every second of it and was a bit sad on Sunday morning when realised it was all going to be over in a few hours.
I thoroughly enjoyed the time teaching the 2 classes (Kaisercraft Door Album and Exploding Box) and Ok at times it was hard for the some of the Ladies to get their heads around the instructions but we got there in the end, and while the classes were predominately for experienced scrappers those that weren't held their own and I think at the end of the day were reasonably happy with their efforts.
Although as those of you that come to my classes know, I hate anyone leaving without a finished project, but with the time frame we had it was inevitable this was going to happen.

I was a bit naughty and after the 1st class told the ladies (well they swore black and blue they would finish) that if anyone bought their finished door album back to me the following morning they would score a little prize...One lady took up the challenge and so she was the winner.

But more exciting was the fact that this Young Lady came to both my Door Album and  Exploding Box classes (having hardly ever done any crafting before!) and then bought her finished box to the airport to show me before I flew home...and all I can say is WOW

This is Beverley Giles from Waipukurau and I was so very happy to have her, her Daughter (Joy) and GrandDaughter (Jen) in both my classes, they were a true pleasure to teach, and Ok they helped Bev finish her box so she could take it home for show and tell at Womens Institute.
Well Done Beverley...I am very proud of you!

I look forward to having you in my classes again (if Liz invites me back next year)

also thanks to Judith and Angela from Timaru  and Noeline, Margaret and Keri from Dunners for making me feel at home and coming along to the classes...it was awesome to have you guys there.

NOW...the plane ride home
I was in row 29 Isle seat D...yay Im thinking no-one is beside me as the plane starts filling up and doesn't look like there's many people left to board...so Im already in planning mode, guna put on my beats, play angry birds, put my feet up and chillax on the way home...
WRONG!!!
In came James and Simon.
To Simon I was "Love" to James I was "the Old Duck"
think I would like to be somewhere in the middle! lol
James is a varsity student in our wonderful city and Simon is a apprentice carpenter in Auckland
they had been at a friends 21st Birthday Bash in Auckland and Simon was coming home for the week
They went paintballing for part of the party...and yes I saw the bruises all over James (he wasn't shy at showing me!)
However I'm not sure what the Jetstar policy is on allowing intoxicated people on a plane, but letz just say I think these 2 likely lads were very lucky I was sitting beside them. Not because Im being big headed or anything but because I am tolerant  (I do work with 12 other Males! and have 2 Sons)
so Boys out for a good time I don't have a problem with...so once again they were lucky. I would like to say tho that the people sitting around me were not exactly happy at the situation but did anyone say anything NO, did anyone offer any help No....so I made the best of a bad situation and decided I would do what I could to keep them out of trouble.
So...
I think I was able to keep them under control a little and while they weren't allowed any more alcohol, (to which the stewardess got a few angry sentiments hurled at her, ) I kept them talking and even had to listen to James new headphones....he just got them off One Day, I think the Old Duck surprised them by knowing the Rhianna and Snoopp Dogg songs he put on for me to listen to...maybe not so much the "Old Duck" as the "Young Chick"...well in my thoughts anyway
so while abusing the hostess for not supplying beer, (instead they were given copious amounts of water, all of which got simutaneoulsy tipped on the floor )...a conversation could be heard like this
James:- You got a Daughter
Me:- Yes I have
James:- Is she hot
Me:- Yes she is
James:- how old is she
Me:- almost 23
James:- is she free
Me:- No shes not
James:- Bugar...you would like me as your Daughters partner
Me:- Really???
Simon:- Churrrrrrrrr

By this time Simon has looked at his phone (I checked it wasn't on airplane mode) at least 10times and each time its only 4mins since he last looked, to which all he could say was I need beer
to which he constantly pushed the call button for the hostess until I got sick of that and was slapping his hand down...I'm not sure if she realised that I saved her a lot of walking and abuse lol
anyway on the floor along with the water was McDonalds Sweet and Sour sauce and Nuggets
it was never going to end well when Simon was trying to balance the sauce on one knee and the nugget box on the other.......to this when they fell out came another Churrrrrr

Anyway as they said as we were all leaving the back of the plane
WE ARE THE FUTURE....to which I replied laughing GOD HELP US ALL
so to James and Simon thanks you for being my "inflight entertainment" and should I fly with you again sometime in the future please sit in a different row!

Until Next Time....Churrrrr!

Well the countdown begins...

the glasses are empty, the ladies are packed ( I'm not!!!) and the kits are on their way to AUCKLAND for SENZ next weekend...very exciting
So has it been chill out time this last week.....OH NO!
I have been busy being creative with the kitz Liz wanted finished to sell at SENZ
(she really is a slave driver...did I say that allowed?).
Anyway I was sent 2 kitz one was Kaisercraft - Lake House Collection (beautiful) and some papers from the Teresa Collins - Notations Collection (mmm ... so so). These kitz are going to be about $20 each and the product in each is not too bad

letz know what you think-

this layout above is the one created with the Lake House papers, of course its been "Robbi-ed" a bit lots and lots of layers... but then that's me

This layout is from the Teresa Collins Notations collection and I have used photos from Mike and Sherie's engagement. There is still about 3 papers in the kit I haven't even touched!

OK peeps, short and sweet have to go finish kitting for my next class here in Dunedin and Balclutha the weekend after SENZ, no pressure just lots and lots of fun.

Oh yes the other countdown must be included .... 25 weeks till Christmas (give or take a day or 2)

Hello Everyone...

Isn't it nice to have such awful weather that we don't have to feel guilty about staying indoors and playing with Paper, Scissors and Glue...I console myself while looking out the window at the very thick snow that's happening right now...that somewhere in the world its warm, sunny and the birds are singing

and in case anyone was wondering its about 26 weeks till Christmas!!!
But now its June 22, its snowing and its very very cold...but it is only a week and a bit till I fly to Auckland for some much awaited fun, while Teaching at SENZ here is what I have been up to...looks like fun aye?

I have found over the years the easiest way to fill class bags is put everything into good sized plastic beer cups then there's not so much opening and closing bags....and no the beer cups were brand new and totally covered my kitchen table! I had thought on the odd occassion while "kitting" that maybe one could be filled with a little Savvy...would anyone know

all these lovely little ladies are now in the kits and waiting for the classes to begin at SENZ!

Thought I would also take the opportunity to show you the May Sketch kit that the Ladies got busy with...this is my take on the sketch. I have used a very good Friends wee Grand Daughter Amelia for my model ... isn't she gorgeous!

This following pic shows the little flaps open and the photos hiding inside.

This following layout is the main class kit for our class last weekend. I absolutely love the sharpness of the Graphic 45 French Country papers and the Blue of the Bo Bunny Double Dot Vintage - Dark Denim Vintage paper. We made 4 little envelopes and tucked folders into each. these folders could hold up to 16 photos, but probably more like 12 and a little journalling

The next class for anyone that might be interested is on the 13th July and we will be creating a double page layout using the new Prima Engraver line and there might even be a little angle dust involved (stickles lol)

Thanks for checking out what I have been up to and for those of you that are coming to SENZ please come say "Hello"...I look forward to catching up with you.
Take Care and Keep Warm

Hi Everyone in ScrappyLand...

Just a very quickie update on
"whats happening in my little world"
WELL...its very exciting im teaching at SENZ in Auckland 5-7 July
for Artfull Crafts and are teaching the following classes...

This is my Floating Butterfly Exploding Box, and it uses the new paper collection from Kaisercraft "On this Day"
It is an amazing collection of beautiful papers and I just hope I have done it justice by creating this wonderful little keepsake.

Here is the write up Liz has put forward for the class...
Wow! Divine! Lovely! We all exclaimed loudly when we laid eyes on Robbi’s exploding box! It’s exquisite, amazing, incredible! There are flaps, everywhere, pockets, tags and beautiful flying butterflies.
If you want to learn how to cluster flowers, create mini embellies, layer papers and collectables AND go home with an amazing masterpiece, then you NEED to come to this class.
Robbi has spent hours doing loads of cutting and kitting for you – and so you may even have a chance of completing this project in class!
Let’s be honest, this class is not for beginners or the light-hearted. Be prepared to work hard, but you will reap the rewards of a sensational project at the end.
Robbi is an experienced class tutor (with a cult following in the deep South) and a member of the Artfull Crafts Design Team.

Makes it sound awesome aye?

This is my door album, also using a new collection from Kaisercraft
it is an awesome collection of papers and because it is real vintagey colours I just Love it!

and here is the write up Liz has put forward for this class...
Step through the door and be amazed at the beautifully styled album that Robbi has created using Kaisercraft’s sellout 75 Cents collection. Inside there’s a variety of tags, film strips, ribbons, clusters of flowers and more. You’ll be able to add your photos later, so come along and learn from a true creative talent.
Robbi is an experienced class tutor (with a cult following in the deep South) and a member of the Artfull Crafts Design Team.

Also sounds like a cool class from the write up.

It really is so exciting to think that all those years ago when Emz and I attended our first SENZ in Christchurch that one day I would actually be teaching at it...I am so super excited to be meeting a whole new lot of "Friends" and hopefully they enjoy the process of creating either (or both) of these
little goodies with me....Maybe I will see you there xxx
Until Then

Hi Everyone out there in the Big Wide World....

Don't Worry or Panic...its only me ... You Know ... Robbi!
Oh come on it hasn't been that long.....Has it???

Anyway I am inspired...I have cleaned my Room (Photos to follow) and am ready to embark on the next adventure...Actually I already have......I am lucky enough to have been asked by Liz from Artfull Crafts if I would teach a couple of classes at SENZ this year in Auckland.....WOW!!! Me teaching @ SENZ unbelievable aye! all those years ago when Emz and I attended our first SENZ in Christchurch I never dreamed for a second that one day I could be teaching there.
I have already made the prototypes for the classes and they are (if  I say so myself) gorgeous!
I am teaching a couple of OTP items and hopefully the Ladies that come along to class will enjoy the process of creating them.

Also recently I have been busy with the new Needle and Thread collection from Kaisercraft, I couldn't decide what to do with it but wanted to be more creative than just making a layout so thought letz use a canvas and see where that takes us....well the Ladies that saw the finished article in person at the Donna Downey Classes over the weekend in Timaru seemed to like it...what do you think?

... and I felt that adventurous that I made a card... no where up to Miss Betsy's standard from Artfull Crafts but I am pretty happy with it anyway

Ok so here is the clean tidy room from all angles so you don't just think I chucked it all in a corner and only tidied one bit...don't look outside the door lol

Nice tidy computer area and now I can get at the big shot and cricut when required, which will be very soon while I am cutting the many hundreds of pieces for each kit for SENZ! but its all good fun

Not that you can really see but all the pizza boxes are named by Company and are supposed to have only that product in each one, unfortunately that's not always what happens

What is that a big bag of flowers .... not full enough tho I seemed to have bought a lot lately but used them all, might have to crack out the credit card again

see all my punches in the baskets and the stickles and inks are hiding up the top

Ok that's it for this blog post. I will be back I promise with some layouts that we have been creating at class and maybe even some of the sketch kit ones...I am a little behind at getting them ready this month lucky we are not having class until after Queens Birthday so I have an extra week up my sleeve.
Until then

Hey There....

I have been pouring through my galleries to find pics of some of my favs to show you of the work i have been busy creating lately

so lets begin....
As many of you will probably know i have a few favourite scrapbooking Companies...
Prima, T!m Holtz, Graphic 45 and Manor House. I am really starting to take a shine to the
Kaisercraft collections as well they have gone ahead leaps and bounds so they must have finally found some good designers.

Anyway one of my favs if Graphic 45 and I altered this clock that I found in a junk bin at the Warehouse

This is using the Ladies Diary collection, and a umbrellas i found at the Brisbane Scrapbook Expo, I went to last year with my good friends Sharon Milford and Dallas Turner (we had a blast and I would do it again in a heartbeat)

Another of my favs is this layout featuring Miss Emma and using once again the Ladies Diary from Graphic 45. I know I have showed you this before but I love the way it flows and how it is constructed.

This Pic is of a layout using the Marigold collection from Kaisercraft

and this one is from the latest class kit I have created for the Dunedin and Balclutha classes this weekend
it is created using the Prima - Nature Garden Collection and a little Bo Bunny Double Dot

I will be bringing you more sneak peeks of layouts etc that have been created for Artfull Crafts as part of my DT commitments and I must admit I have throughly enjoyed working with the 75 cent collection from Kaisercraft.   so keep watching and there might even be a special announcement of something very awesome happening in July that I am apart of....

until Then, Take Care and
